随着新编地方志的规模效应日益凸显,开发利用将是地方志工作的重要方向,其为当代史研究服务的功能必将日益得到强化。北京市的修志实践表明,新编地方志的记述对象、时限与当代史的研究对象、时限有着天然的密切联系,并具有体量庞大、资料丰富和记述准确等特点,能从资料提供、厘清史实、开阔思路、事件评价和记述方法等方面,为当代史研究提供重要的参考、利用价值。
