Moral Nature of University Spirit and Its Restraints to the Construction of University Culture

大学文化是大学改革和发展的重要支持力量,大学精神的道德本性决定了大学文化建设必须接受大学精神的约束。大学文化建设要充分体现大学精神,为大学办学实践提供有力的文化支持,就要促成大学目的性价值与工具性价值之间的平衡,促进大学科研、教学、社会服务职能之间的动态平衡,促进大学不同层次教育共同体的构建和成长,并处理好保守与创新的关系。

The reform and development of a university requests support from university culture, whereas theconstruction of university culture needs constraint from university spirit for its moral nature. To demonstrate uni-versity spirit and provide strong cultural support for the practice of universities, the construction of university cul-ture must contribute to the balance between ideological value and instrumental value of the university, promote thedynamic balance among scientific researches, teachings and social services, enhance the formation and growth ofvarious educational communities, and manage well the relationship between conservation and innovation.
