Urbanization and Energy Consumption: An Overview

中国快速城市化进程中面临着日益严峻的能源压力,围绕城市化与能源消耗的现实关联性、城市化与能源消耗的关联机制与路径、城市化延伸特征与能源消耗的关系等内容,系统梳理探讨城市化与能源消耗关系的理论及实证文献,综合评述已有研究的特点及不足,展望未来的拓展方向。明晰城市化与能源消耗之间的关系,有利于确定合理的能耗管理策略,推进新型城市化,实现节能减排,推动经济转型升级。

With the rapid development of urbanization in China,pressure of energy is becoming more and more obvious,and energy consumption in cities accounts for more than two- thirds of the total energy consumption. This paper carries out a comprehensive and systematic survey of literature about the relationship between urbanization and energy consumption including the correlation between urbanization and energy consumption,mechanism and path of urbanization impacting energy consumption,extension characteristics of urbanization on energy consumption. Comprehensive reviewof advantages and disadvantages about existing research is achieved. The future direction of this field is put forward. Understanding the relationship between urbanization and energy consumption is helpful to determine reasonable energy management strategy,advance newtype urbanization,achieve energy conservation and emissions reduction,and promote economic transformation and upgrading.
