摘要
The Standing Committee of the 12th National People＇s Congress （NPC, China＇s top legislature） on December 27, 2015, adopted the country＇s first-ever law against domestic violence. After a seven-day session, the Law of the People＇s Republic of China Against Domestic Violence was approved, during the 18th meeting of the 12th NPC Standing Committee. The law, which will take effect on March 1, 2016, represents a milestone in China＇s fight against domestic violence. Since the concept of ＂domestic violence＂ was introduced to China in 1995, the All-China Women＇s Federation （ACWF） and various organizations, including social groups, have made great efforts to ensure the elimination of violence within families and promote the law＇s enactment.
2015年12月27日，第十二届全国人大常委会第十八次会议正式表决通过了《中华人民共和国反家庭暴力法》。该法律自2016年3月1日起正式施行，是业界呼吁和等待了20年的结果。自1995年“家庭暴力”这一概念被引入中国，包括全国妇联在内的有关组织机构和专家学者，便一直在为消除家庭暴力、推动反家暴立法进行着不懈努力。
