Objective To find out the health quality and trends of polytetrafluoroethylene nonstick cookware in Yongkang and provide scientific basis for the supervision and management of relevant governmental departments and for production, sales of polytetrafluoroethylene nonstick cookware. Methods From 2010 to 2014,nonstick cookware samples were randomly selected from polytetrafluoroethylene cookware manufacturers. The samples were washed by detergent, running water and rinse three times by water, then aired to use. Soak liquid was 2 ml per square centimeter according to the contact area,If the samples were containers, then the immersion liquid was added to the 2 /3- 4 /5 volume to soak. The potassium permanganate consumption in the sample was determined by titration method. The content of the residue was determined by chemical method. The content of chromium was determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. The content of fluorine was determined by fluoride ion selective electrode method. Then the test results were statistically analyzed. Results 320 polytetrafluoroethylene nonstick cookwares were monitored in the past five years, and 261 samples were qualified, with the average qualified rate of 81. 6%. The main unqualified items were 4% acetic acid soaking liquid evaporation residue, chromium and fluoride with the qualified rate lower than 90%. Conclusion The polytetrafluoroethylene nonstick cookware supervision should be further strengthened to ensure the health of consumers in the future.
