古代文学的文本是古代文献,是历史遗留下来的文化典籍,由于时代久远,古今相隔,文献本身有许多地方已不被现代人所了解,如果没有现代阐释,即现代人的理解、观念和理论与之勾通、接受,为现代人所利用,古代文献对我们来说,就是故纸一堆,没有任何价值和意义。按照接受美学的观点来看,它们都是死物,只有被现代人接收和利用,它们才能活起来。任何文化古籍,都是借着历代的新的阐释,它才能与一代代人的思想观念相勾通、相联系,才能做为思想和文化资源,被后人所利用、吸收,它们才能起作用。现代阐释激活了古代文化的生命。文化传递犹如接薪,需要代代用“新火”点燃传续,现代阐释是中国传统文化的新的生长点。

The carrier of ancient literature is ancient books. Because of the long time, modern people can' t understand the ancient bookswithout interpretation. Without interpretation the ancient books are waster papers for us. According to the view of acceptance aesthetics,ancient books are dead stuff. Only can they be live when modern people accept them. Only with one after another gyrations' interpreta-tion, the ancient can link with and being accepted by the people. Only can they be the source of culture and thought afer being inter-preted. i. e. modern interpretations are the new connection of Chinese traditional culture.
