Emperor Li-shimin's Aesthetic Perception and Achievements in Poetry

唐太宗李世民的美学思想一方面有着以社稷为重的功利色彩，一方面对文学艺术的现象有着自己的阐释、评价观念。作为其美学思想表征的诗歌也呈现出复杂的特征：一方面经世致用，一方面又不乏美感；一方面孕育着新的审美理想，一方面又有南朝美学之遗风。李世民身上的这些矛盾现象恰恰反映了初唐诗歌美学的复杂性。

The aesthetic perception of Emperor Li-shimin includes two aspects,one is that the poetry is considered as the utility of the state;the other is that he had his own explanations and comments on the phenomena of literature and art.Poems,as a token of Emperor Li′s aesthetic perception,show us their complexities,in which the functions of administer affairs and the character of aesthetic sensibility a re comprised.There are two reasons,one is that a new aesthetic ideal is rising in his time;the other is that the aesthetic fashion of Nan Dynasty still remained at the beginning of Tang Dynasty.It was with his doublethink that Emperor Li-shimin composed his poems.
