杭州，这座美丽的华贵之城，以其独特的魅力，吸引了无数文人墨客纷至沓来。“欲把西湖比西子，淡妆浓抹总相宜”“忆江南，最忆是杭州”等传世之作，让文人们在此找到了表达的出口。他们通过建筑、美术、诗歌、文学、戏剧等艺术形式，表达着自我，思考着世界。一种利用文字、刀笔在石头上雕刻的艺术，也生长在其中。2009年，中国篆刻被列入《人类非物质文化遗产代表作名录》。
Hangzhou is a beautiful city attracting numerous literati with its unique charm in the history, who have created many popular poems and essays describing the city. They have expressed their selves and their reflections on the world by such artistic forms as architecture, fine arts, poetry, literature and drama. Seal carving, an art of calligraphy on stone, is one of them.
