The Crisis and Transition of Infant-raising Business of Sichuan in the Late Qing Dynasty

近代以来,中国社会动荡日趋严重,经济逐渐衰落,社会矛盾不断凸显,建立在国家政治权力保障下的育婴事业也不断走向低谷。四川育婴事业在经历长足发展后,清末显现出衰微之象,无论经费、还是管理等都出现问题。为适应社会发展和维护社会稳定,四川开始推出新育婴措施,育婴思想也发生转变,进而出现育婴局,使得四川育婴事业得以继续延续。

Since stepped into the modern era,society i n China has becoming increasingly unrest with declining economy and constantly highlighted social contradictions. Nursery career built under the protection of political power has also approached its trough. Having gone through a period of substantial development,nursery career in Sichuan province showed a little bit withered sign no matter in expenditure or administration in the late Qing Dynasty. In order to adapt to the social development and maintain social stability,Sichuan launched a new measure which changed the nursery business. There also emerged nursery bureau,and all the efforts they made let infant-raising business keep going and developing in Sichuan.
