Space Construction in Bone

伍慧明在小说《骨》中描绘了"唐人街"、"鲑鱼巷"、"三藩公寓"、"教会大街"等众多空间意象,同时也建构了语言、心理等虚拟空间。伍慧明通过构建众多虚实交错的空间意象,一方面来消解美国种族主义,霸权文化;另一方面也通过描绘小说中人物的困惑和迷茫,来展现华裔美国人的身份文化认同危机和生存境遇。

In Bone,Fae Myenne Ng depicts many specific space images,such as ＂Chinatown＂,＂Salmon Alley＂,＂San Fran＂and＂Mission＂,and she also describes the virtual space such as psychological and language space.On the one hand,the author attempts to erase American racialism and its hegemonic culture by interpreting these different kinds of space.On the other hand,by depicting the perplexity and confusion of characters in the novel,the author reveals the living condition of Chinese-Americans and their cultural identity crisis.
