National Image Is a Great Issue

摘要 当今的每一个国家都处在这个信息无所不在的"关系网"上,每时每刻都与这个地球上的其他国家互联、互通、互动,交往、交流、交易。而相互往来的前提是对"国家形象"的认知,即公众对一个国家综合评价所得出的总体印象。新中国的成立标志着中国人民站起来了,特别是改革开放时代,我国取得了举世公认的成就,得到了国际社会的广泛认同。但是,客观地讲,这种认可只是经济带来的利益使然,并不是国家形象的根本改变。国家形象的研究和传播是我国走向世界的一个大问题,也是新闻传播学的核心课题。作为新闻传播的教育者和实践者,我们必须高度关注我国国际形象的提升,尊重规律,转变思维,以科学、有效、全面、准确、易于接受的方式方法,向全球传播中国的新形象。 Today, every nation is linked to the "network" of omnipresent information, and communicates, interacts, exchanges and trades with all other countries on the earth. The premise for all of this is the awareness of "national image" —the overall impression of the public on the nation through comprehensive evaluation. The founding of New China signifies that the Chinese people have stood up. In particular, during the reform and opening up, China has made outstanding achievements and has been widely recognized by the international community. But objectively speaking, this recognition is only a result due to economic benefit, and does not mean a fundamentally changed national image. Studying and spreading the image of China is a big issue while it goes global and also a key subject of journalism. As the educators and practitioners in journalism and the communications industry, we must pay high attention to enhancing the international image of China, respect the law, change our thinking, and use scientific, effective, comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-accept methods to spread to the world a new image of China.
