摘要
本研究通过调查问卷,旨在考察分析边疆少数民族地区中学英语教师的语言知识、语言教学、英语文化、科学研究四个方面的基本素质。数据分析结果显示:(1)中学英语教师的基本素质普遍较低,其中科研能力最弱;(2)中学英语教师的基本素质总体上不存在性别差异和族别差异;(3)不同年龄组的教师在语言知识与科研能力两个维度方面存在显著差异。基于本研究,目前边疆少数民族地区中学英语教师的基本素质有待进一步提升,为他们提供专业发展平台已刻不容缓。
Through questionnaire, this study mainly examined the essential qualities of middle school English teachers working in the frontier minority areas in the following four aspects: subject knowledge, language teaching ability, intercultural awareness, and research ability. Results from SPSS Data analysis indicate that: (1) For middle school English teachers, their essential qualities are very weak and particularly the research ability; (2) In overall essential qualities, gender and ethnic differences do not exist statistically; (3) Significant difference exists in the means of subject knowledge and research ability between groups of teachers of different ages. Based on this study, the present essential qualities of middle school English teachers in the frontier minority areas need further improving, and now it is urgent to provide them with professional development platform.
