Objective To investigate the expression of heparanase( HPA) and the correlations with estrogen receptor( ER),progesterone receptor( PR),human epidermal growth factor receptor-2( HER-2),P53 protein expressions in the breast cancer. Methods The expressions of HPA protein were detected in the 78 cases of breast cancer by immunohistochemistry S-P method. Results The positive expression rate of HPA protein was 69. 2% in the breast cancer. The expression of HPA protein was not correlated with the age of patient and size of mass in the breast cancer( P〉0. 05); but was correlated with the lymph node metastasis and the clinical stage of breast cancer( P 〈0. 05). There were no correlations between the expression of HPA protein and the expression of ER or PR protein( r = 0. 178,0. 056; P 〉0. 05); The expression of HPA protein was positively correlated with the expression of HER-2 and P53 protein( r = 0. 436,0. 310; P 〈0. 05). Conclusion HPA protein is correlated with progression of breast cancer, and is positively correlated with the HER-2 and P53.
