FENG Zhi-yi: An Important Tongcheng School Writer during the Daoguang Period of the Qing Dynasty

冯志沂是清道光时期桐城派作家,刘声木《桐城文学渊源考》评价他是梅曾亮的"高第弟子"。在师事梅曾亮十余年间,他忠实地践行梅氏的古文理论,古文造诣日益精进,文风简净精洁,在梅氏诸弟子中堪称翘楚。因此,冯志沂在道光时期桐城派作家中具有不容忽视的重要地位。

FENG Zhi-yi was an important Tongcheng School writer during the Daoguang Period of the Qing Dynasty. LIU Sheng-mu,in Origin of the Tongcheng Literature,considered him as a capable student of MEI Zeng-liang. Under the guidance of MEI Zeng-liang,FENG Zhi-yi faithfully practised his teacher＇s theory of classical essays,made great progress and became one the best among the disciples for his concise writing style. Therefore,FENG Zhi-yi played an important role which cannot be neglected.
