Avant-garde literature is one of the most important literary phenomena in the new period.Profoundly influenced by existentialism, it has a "subversive" and "transcendence" character. It was very popular in 1980 s, but began to decline in the early 1990 s. The influence of existentialism to these writers are not only in their 1980 s composition, but also in their 1990 s as well as the new century's works. The effect of the former is "virtual", namely the form;the impact of the latter is "real", namely the significance. Taking "Jiangnan Trilogy" as a typical text of the latter, persistent effect of existentialism on the avant-garde writers can be seen in the discussion of the textual aspects of "existential ontology epic creation" and "ruins aesthetics".
