Orientation Metaphor Mapping into Tense Reflected in Pronunciation of Diphthong

空间隐喻属于概念隐喻的三种分类之一,是认知的基础。时间概念是抽象的,具体的空间方位词可用来描述和衡量时间的变化。文章基于时间的空间隐喻系统,观察大量不规则动词过去式双元音发音位置的变化,分析对比得出:时间的空间隐喻系统在语音方面也有所呈现。这印证了隐喻是一种认知方式并普遍存在于人类的思维中这一观点。

Orientation metaphor,basic of cognition,belongs to conceptual metaphor. The specific and appreciable locality words are always used to describe and measure the change of time owing to the abstract of time. Comparing with plenty of the past tense of irregular verbs about the change of the pronunciation position,this paper attempts to discuss the phenomenon about the orientation metaphor mapping into the field of pronunciation based on orientation metaphor theory. According to analysis the reflection of orientation metaphor in pronunciation,this paper aims to reveal the interaction relationship between pronunciation and metaphor and provide theoretical basis for English teaching.
