Interpretation of The Black Cat from the “Uncanny”Theory

爱伦·坡在其短篇小说《黑猫》中描绘了一个精神病态的主人公。该主人公从一个喜爱猫,热爱养猫,懂得疼爱妻子的好人堕落成了一个残忍杀猫杀妻的暴君。根据弗洛伊德的"恐惑"理论来分析,主人公的这种病态的心理变化是由他内心的"恐惑"造成的,也正是他内心的恐惑导致了他最终精神崩溃犯下杀妻的罪行。而他内心的"恐惑"主要是由黑猫的复现引起的。

In The Black Cat,Allan Poe depicts a psychological morbid cruel protagonist. Although at first the protagonist likes cats and loves his wife,yet he brutally kills that cat and his wife,which show that he is a psychological morbid man. According to Sigmund Freud＇s ＂Uncanny＂theory,the writer of the paper thinks that the protagonist＇s ＂uncanny＂mentality is caused by the repetition of that dead black cat and leads to his fatal crime of killing his wife.
