Based on the collection of information on the world＇s plastics industry in July 2014 to June 2015, this paper introduced developments of the world＇s plastics industry from 2014 to 2015, providing the production and consumption of world＇s plastics, as well as the demand for types of resin and capacity situation. In the order of thermoplastic resin （ polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, ABS resin, LCP ）, engineering plastics （ nylon, polycarbonate, polyoxymethylene, thermoplastic polyester）, special engineering plastics （polyphenylene sulfide, polyaryletherketone, polyarylsulfone, fluoropolymer） and general thermoset resins （phenolic, unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin, polyurethane）, it detailed in resin production, resin consumption, resin supply-demand, synthetic technology of resin, application development of product, extension of variety kind of resin and expandsion of resin applications.
