Boost the Development of New Towns in the Western Region with Scientific and Technological Innovation

西部内陆地区城镇化获得长足发展,但也出现诸多棘手的社会、经济、生态问题,抑制着未来城乡地区的可持续发展。该文基于新型城镇化的基本内涵,分析目前世界典型的城市化模式,研究其通过科技进步与创新推动城镇化的发展经验,并提出西部地区实现新型城镇化的政策。

A lot of difficult social, economic and ecological problems appears to inhibit sustainable develop- ment in the future of urban de rural areas with the rapid development of urbanization in the western region by tech- nological innovation. Based on the basic connotation of the new urbanization, this paper analyzes the typical mode of urbanization in the world, studies the experience of promoting the development of urbanization through scientific and technological progress and innovation, and puts forward the policy for the western region to achieve new urbani- zation. This urbanization will promote new industrialization with scientific and technological progress and innova- tion, improve the spatial structure of the town, promote the development of modem agriculture, and achieve sus- tainable development of economy, resource and ecology and the coordinated development of urban and rural areas.
