In the late 19th century, the Japanese started to run newspapers in China. With the signment of unfair treaties, the number and the scale of the Japanese newspapers in China were becoming larger and larger. There were altogether more than 230 newspapers circulated in the North-east of china before Japan invaded China on September 18th in 1931.In other areas of China, the Japanese ran papers through different ways, operating them by themselves or in the name of Chinese, Englishmen or Americans. Sometimes, they purchased some newspaper firms or newspapermen to get them as their mouthpieces. All these papers were evil aids of the invader, serving the war by gathering information, sowing discords, talking black into white, or obscuring propaganda.
