"破坏性愈发强大的生态危机"、"造成危机根源的资本主义制度"以及"危机所印证的现代性之死"已经构成人们对生态问题认识的最大共识,也构成人们思考现代性悖论的叙事背景。这一问题的解决不仅关系人类的整体命运,更关系未来发展的路径选择,何种路径能够有效应对这一危机并实现对问题的部分或彻底解决,成为理论界探讨的热点和难点问题。回应这一问题,一些西方学者看到中国生态文明建设的新思路,提出中国式思维是解决全球问题的可选择路径,并以此为实践例证提出"有机马克思主义"的理论。以小约翰·柯布、菲利普·克莱顿等人为代表的有机马克思主义者以怀特海过程哲学思想为思想基础,以中国传统文化中的生态思想及生态文明建设实践作为理论资源和实践路径,以后现代主义对现代主义一元论的拒斥与多元文明观的建设为基本理路,这一整体设计体现了有机的思维方式创新、生态的价值取向转换以及人类福祉为核心的理论旨趣追求,具有一定的借鉴和参考价值。
