Reconsideration of “Crossing the Bar to Fill the Word”in Ancient Book Repairing

"划栏补字"是针对古籍中"断栏缺字"破损现象进行有效修复保护的惟一办法,是一项具有传统工艺兼具文化修养的修复方法,它具备真正意义上的修复完好古籍文献的全部价值,而不只是书页纸张本身。但在古籍修复保护中却被叫停,这直接忽略了对于依附古籍书页上的历史文献保护,一个很重要的合理内核被摈弃。笔者经过仔细研究分析,认为这是不合情理的,是对古籍修复保护认识不足。

＂Crossing the bar to fill the word＂is the only way to effectively restore and conserve the ancient books having the＂broken bar with literal blank＂,which is a traditional traditional and cultural repairing technique,having the real value and meaning of ancient books completely repaired beyond the value of paper. But it has been suspended in the ancient book repairing and protecting,which causes the reasonable core of historical document protection being dependent upon the existence of ancient book pages directly ignored. Through carefully researching and analyzing,the author believes that it is unconscionable and is insufficient understanding of the ancient book repairing and protecting.
