Clinical Application of Astragalus Center-Fortifying Decoction for Mental Desease

黄芪建中汤应用于精神疾病时宜紧扣小建中汤证;黄芪建中汤之药物剂量,除黄芪多在45~90 g、饴糖多在45 g之外,其余多接近经方一两相当于15.625 g之量,低于此量则疗效欠佳;关于黄芪建中汤之药材选择,芍药用白芍为好,因白芍功擅益阴养血,且具酸收之能;然对于市售之雪白片剂,用之宜慎,因此多系药商用硫磺重度熏染所致,宜选原个药材色浅白、暗黄者为佳,自己切制。饴糖于市肆时或有售,宜选购优质者冷藏备用。

When Astragalus Center-Fortifying Decoction is applied to mental disease,it should be centered on the syndrome of Minor Center-Fortifying Decoction. The dose of each ingredient is about 15. 625 g except 45-90 g of Huangqi（ Radix Astragali） and45 g of maltose,and if the dose is below the mentioned above the efficacy won’t be good. With regard to the selection of the ingredients,Baishao（ Radix Paeoniae Alba） is advisable because it is not only good at nourishing yin and blood but also has the astringency of sourness. We should be cautious about the snow-white tablets sold on the market since they are most likely fumigated and dyed with sulphur by the druggist. It is advisable to choose light-white and dark-yellow one and cut by yourself. Maltose with high quality should be chosen for cold storage,which is probably sold in the shop.
