清代才媛咏孝、贞、烈女诗论稿

On Feminist Filiality, Virginity and Heroism in the Poetry of Qing Dynasty

清代从上至下孝、贞、烈气息弥漫,史书、方志、小说等也多有相关史实记载及文学描述。如此强烈的孝、贞、烈情结,必然在文学作品中得到反映,仅《江南女性别集》丛书中就收录清代才媛咏孝、贞、烈女诗40首,这无疑是她们孝、贞、烈情结的无意识发泄。清代才媛们认为,只要女儿对父母尽孝心,必名垂后天,死而弥寿;只要女儿保持贞节,则绰楔荣恩眷,贞操播天壤;至于女儿殉身或殉未婚夫,虽然苦节未可强,但只要勇于践行,便贤名万古留。我们应该批判继承传统孝道,适当提倡贞节,坚决摒弃殉身。

Feminist filiality, virginity and heroism were prevalent in the Qing Dynasty. It can be seen in works ranging from history books, chorography to novels. In Jiangnan Female Antholog, 40 poems were compiled to reveal these thoughts. The women in the Qing Dynasty believed that women would enjoy long-lasting fame as long as daughters keep filial piety for parents and virginity for themselves, and if they die for some noble cause or for their fiancés. We should critically inherit traditional filial piety, advocate virginity properly and abandon the devoting thought resolutely.
