摘要
孙伏园先生是我国著名的报刊编辑家,在他长达几十年的报刊编辑生涯中,尤以五四后期主编《晨报副刊》时最为出色。孙伏园深受新文化运动的影响,认为副刊的作用已不再局限于供人消闲或提供娱乐上,而应当具有传播知识、广泛开展社会批评等多项职能,此外应五四时期社会发展的需求,副刊还应肩负起传播新思潮启迪民智的重任。在五四新文化运动"民主、科学"旗帜的感召下,孙伏园创办的《晨报副刊》横扫了充斥副刊的低级趣味,为五四时期盛极一时的四大副刊全面繁荣的盛况奠定了坚实的根基,成就了《晨报副刊》在中国报纸副刊史上的卓越地位。
Sun Fuyuan, a famous Chinese newspaper editor, was most excellent when chief-editing Supplement to Moring News in the anaphase of the May Fourth Period. This paper studies Mr. Sun＇s editing thoughts deeply influenced by New Culture Movement. The supplement is not only to entertain people, but also to disseminate new thoughts, develop social criticism and enlighten the public. Under the leadership of Mr. Sun, vulgar tastes were swept away from Supplement to Moring News, which laid solid foundation for the overall popularity of the Four Supplements and made it prominent in history.
