中外文化交流史研究中的"全球史"转向,既是全球史研究的题中应有之义,也是中外文化交流史学科发展的内在理路。在中外文化交流史研究的基础上引入新的理论方法,从长时段、大范围考察多文明互动的历史格局,通过超越狭隘的"中国中心观"考察多文明互动过程,以及互动双方或多方"中心-边缘"观念的变化,有意识的摒弃"中心"意识和"我者"意识,以一种"鸟瞰者"的姿态观察"我者"和"他者"在多文明互动中的历史,重视"他者"在"我者"历史发展中的作用。通过宏大叙事与微观考察的结合,依托中外文化交流史差异化的微观历史个体,来折射宏大历史。中外文化交流史研究中的"全球史"转向对以往许多问题可以作出重新阐释,从而进一步拓展对中外文化交流史的理解和认识。
