论近代中国条约口岸城市发展特征——与非条约口岸城市之比较

On Developmental Feature of Port Cities in Modern China

近代中国城市发展有两种类型 :一类是条约口岸城市近代化 ,一类是非条约口岸城市近代化。其中 ,条约口岸作为中国最先向近代转型的一类城市 ,是在列强的胁迫下 ,通过签订不平等条约开放的。其发展不仅有双重性、领先性特征 ,而且还存在着各口岸发展的不平衡性及发展水平与规模的巨大差异性 ,甚至影响着与之相关联的区域内非条约口岸城市的发展进程。

There were two types of developments in modern Chinese cities . One is the modernization of treaty port cities , the other is of non-treaty port cities . Among them , as the earliest modernized cities , the treaty port cities , opened to the outside under the threaten of those invading western countries and through their unequal treaties . Thus their developments had not only double and leading features , but the unbalance and difference of each developing level and scale , and even affected the developing procedure of related non-treaty port cities .
