The changes of Japan's financial system after the Second World War led to the establishment of the dominant financial system to the Japanese economy. The indirect financial system strategy has played an important role in the rapid recovery and development of Japanese economy after war. But due to the excessive intervention of government, the competition has been limited and the financial system turned into an inert development, and finally led to the 1990's financial crisis. The analysis of the success and failure in financial system reform of Japan has special reference to China. China's financial system reform should be based on the national conditions, take the financial liberalization as a starting point, accelerate the marketization reform and improve the regulatory system, finally promote the sustainable economic development.
