Research on discourse analysis and translation of Chinese classics

语篇语言学引入翻译领域后,给翻译研究注入了理性的思考,它的语篇分析模式对译者在翻译过程中谋篇策略的选择具有指导意义。韩礼德系统功能语法的功能语篇分析模式已被广泛应用于中国典籍英译本的评析之中,显示出了这种分析模式较强的科学客观性,但也存在着不足,仍有许多值得商榷探讨之处。

Discourse linguistics emphasized rational thinking in translation study as it was introduced to the realm of translation. The mode of discourse analysis gives guidance to translator in the choice of translating discourse strategy in the process of translation. This mode of functional discourse analysis based on Halliday＇s systemic-functional grammar has been widely used in evaluating and analyzing English versions of Chinese classics. Though it displays the objective of science, it still exists some shortages and needs to be discussed carefully.
