English reading is a very important approach for English learners to pick up a language and acquire information, and also an important skill in foreign language learning. This essay analyzes how to improve non-English majors＇ reading ability through discourse analysis. It mainly explores the approaches of lead-in, the micro-analysis of the outline of the passage, the analysis of the paragraphs and vocabulary, sentences and grammars to enhance students＇ discourse consciousness, improve their abilities to acquire the discourse information and ultimately obtain the content of the passage.
