《金瓶梅》为明代小说"四大奇书"之一,至清康熙年间被张竹坡誉为"第一奇书"。要研究《金瓶梅》的成书与版本,自然不可忽视"万历本",而张竹坡评点之"第一奇书"本则更适合广大读者之审美诉求。"金学"专家固然可贵,而普通读者更是一个巨大的存在;不了解读者,对小说创作与研究都是不可思议的。

Golden Lotus is one of the four prodigious books in the Ming Dynasty,and to the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty,Zhang Zhupo even considered it as the number one prodigious book. As for the study of the publication and editions of this book,the Wangli edition surely cannot be neglected,yet the version with Zhuang Zhupo＇s commentary is more suitable for ordinary readers＇ aesthetic taste. Scholars＇ research is valuable,yet the ordinary readers are a bigger existence. The creation and research of novels will be inconceivable without the understanding of the massive readers.
