30年代左翼小说的很多作品,集中表现了青年知识者为革命不惜抛弃爱情、亲情和牺牲自我生命的倾向,表现出一种为革命而自我泯灭的冲动,弥漫着一股狂热,这是一代青年知识分子在青春的焦灼、迷惘及人生的挫败感中,想从革命这一宏大的事业中寻求精神庇护与现实超越。这种精神需求,在自我压抑、自我泯灭的情节表象下,隐藏着自我奔突、自我救赎的强烈愿望。

1930s witnessed the emerging of abundant left- wing novels which expresses the young intellectuals＇ revolutionary orientation of self- sacrifice regardless of love and family. These novels were pervaded with crazy enthusiasm and the impulse of self- perish,demonstrating a generation of young intellectuals who were frustrated in their puberty anxiety and life perplexity,trying to search for their spiritual asylum and transcendence from the macro enterprise of revolution. Under the superficial plots of self- oppression and self-perish,this spiritual demand actually represents their strong desire of self- breakthrough and self- salvation.
