土耳其梅赫特尔军乐是世界上最早组建的军乐队,曾一度成为奥斯曼帝国的象征,也是土耳其英雄主义和国家主权的典范。在几个世纪的发展过程中,梅赫特尔不仅仅是一种音乐事项,它还与伊斯兰穆斯林社会的概念融为一体,成为奥斯曼土耳其帝国宗教精神和世俗权力变化模式的表征,体现出奥斯曼社会仪式所表达的社会制度形式的诸多意涵。

As the earliest military band in the world,Turkish Mehter martial music was once the symbol of the Ottoman Empire and the example of Turkish heroism as well as state sovereignty. In the past centuries,the Mehter was more than a kind of music,being the unifying force in political and social system of the overall Ottoman society with many connotations. It became the representation of religious spirit and secular power in the Ottoman Empire.
