Vocabulary Storage and Scientific Methods of Memorizing Words

词汇是语言基本单位 ,词汇储备量不足是学生学习外语的最大障碍。故应在教学中千方百计地帮助学生增加词汇有效储备量。识记单词的科学方法有三种。其一 ,两种识记法———机械识记与理解识记结合使用 ,相互辅佐 ;其二 ,如何与遗忘抗争———根据人识记与遗忘的规律及时的再现所学的新单词即在遗忘之前复习再现是识记单词的科学方法 ;其三 ,根据科学识记单词的规律 ,安排词汇讲解 ,复习再现及提问、测试等教学手段 。

Words are the basic units of any language.Insufficiency of vocabulary storage has proved to be the greastest obstacle to language learning.It is necessary for teachers to enlarge students' vocabulary storage by every possible means.The scientific methods of memorizing words are as follows:(1)Two ways of memorizing words,mechanically and comprehensively,must be combined to complement each other.(2)How to avoid forgetting?According to the law of memorization,new words learned must reappear timely afterwards,that is to say,revision before forgetting is the scientific method of memorization.(3)All the teaching approaches-explanation,revision,question,quiz,test and so on,must be well planned and arranged in line with the law of memorization to help students enlarge their vocabulary storage.
