二元对立视角下《离别黄屋》的女主人公

The Female Protagonists in Leaving the Yellow House from the Perspective of Binary Oppositions

本文采用二元对立的分析方法阐释《离别黄屋》中两位女主人公英迪与海蒂之间的一系列二元对立:不在场与在场的对立、主人与仆人的对立、男性气质与女性气质的对立,剖析二者产生二元对立的原因。通过对比分析两位特质完全不同的女性,论证索尔·贝娄能够塑造令人信服、情感丰富的女性角色。

By method of binary oppositions,this paper expounds the series of binary oppositions between the two female protagonists,India and Hattie,in Leaving the Yellow House： the absent-present opposition,the master-servant opposition,the masculine-feminine opposition. It analyzes the reasons for these binary oppositions. By comparing and analyzing two completely different female characters,the paper proves that Saul Bellow is capable of portraying convincing and emotional female characters.
