赛博格这一生物学与计算机科学领域的术语为女性主义理论研究带来了新的活力。唐娜·哈拉维以赛博格为契机开创一种新的生态女性主义表达方式,并且将这一概念放入现实的经济生活进行考察。她指出,赛博格导致的女性身份的破碎与信息技术发展导致的社会分工变化为女性获取平等和解放提供了条件。与此同时,赛博格理论打破了生态女性主义的思维定式,将其从女性与自然的隐喻中解放了出来,使女性与机器、科学技术以及网络空间这些传统男性领域联系在了一起,开拓了更为广阔的理论前景。
Originally a term of biology and computer science, Cyborg brought a new perspective to eco-feminism. Donna Haraway utilized the concept of Cyborg in real economic situations to introduce a new expression to eco feminism. She believed that Cyborg broke the traditional female identity and provided the modern women with a new way out for liberation and equality in a world where division of labor was already transforming in terms of gender. In the meantime, Cyborg destructed the binary thinking that confined women in the woman-nature metaphor and related them with tradi- tionally male dominated concepts such as machine, science and cyberspaee.
