A stylistic study of the preludes to the novels of the Ming dynasty

明代人为本朝小说所作之序呈现出两种相同的倾向,即肯定小说的教化作用和以小说比附经史。其目的是提高小说的地位和价值,表现出小说这种文体在明代并未跻身主流地位,而文人也没有形成独立的小说观。在小说序中对于虚构问题的认识是有争议的,少数人形成了比较进步的小说文体观,但总体而言并没有形成成熟的小说观。

The preludes to the Ming novels have tendencies of heuristics and history,for the purpose of enhancing the stature and value of the novels.In another word,a novel is inferior to other literary genre.Or else,the fictional criticism is not yet formed,despite a few critics who have got progressive viewpoints of the literary genre.
