基于语料库的begin与start的对比分析

A Corpus-based Contrastive Study of Begin and Start

同义词辨析一直以来都是困扰中国学生的一大难题,研究者们也一直致力于如何帮助学生解决这一困扰,在众多的解决办法之中,语料库的发展起到了越来越积极的作用。以同义词begin和start为例,通过借助中国学生英语口笔语语料库(SWECCL)和美国当代英语语料库(COCA),对这两个词进行对比分析,找出差异与共性,希望对学生的英语学习有所帮助。

Discrimination of English Synonyms is consistently a big problem for Chinese students and researchers are working on how to solve this problem. Taking ＂begin＂ and ＂start＂ as an example, the comparison will be made between these two words, with the help of two Corpuses --- SWECCL and COCA. The aim is to find out the differences and similarities of ＂begin＂ and ＂start＂ and sum up gap of words using between Chinese students and native speakers, which may be helpful for students＇ learning English.
