Objective To evaluate the influence of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) on the satisfaction and benefits of hearing aids usage in patients with presbycusis. Methods Data from 92 subjects who had been fitted with hearing aids for more than six months at the audiology test center of Fuzhou General Hospital of PLA were collected. The subjects were divided into two groups (MCI and control) depending on their MoCA scores. All subjects received SADL and IOI-HA evaluation. Results Scores of SADL, positive effect, service and price and IOI-HA were significantly higher in the group of normal cognitive function than in the group of MCI (p〈0.05), although no significant difference was detected with the scores of negative effect and personal image (P〉0.05). Positive correlations were observed between SADL and MoCA scores (r= 0.670,P=0.000), and between IOI-HA and MoCA (r= 0.785,P=0.000) scores. Conclusion Compared with patients of normal cognitive function, the satisfaction and benefits with hearing aids in patients with MCI are reduced. Satisfaction and benefits with hearing aids are correlated with cognitive function.
