低覆盖度治沙是一项荒漠化治理新理念、新技术,是从近自然林业思路出发,探索的能够完全固定流沙、加快土壤植被修复、提高生物生产力、节约生态用水、实现固沙林可持续发展的覆盖度在15%-25%的新型治沙模式.该模式获多项国家专利及科技成果,开创了植被在低覆盖度下实现防沙治沙目标的新领域,在内蒙古、宁夏、甘肃等地推广面积约200万hm^2,且在京津沙源工程中得到广泛应用.该模式对推动我国防沙治沙工作进入更加科学、高效、经济的时代具有重要价值,必将引领我国防沙治沙研究向着一个崭新的方向发展,为我国防沙治沙工程及生态环境建设做出巨大贡献.

The combating desertification with low-coverage is a kind of new idea &technology.Explored from the near-natural forestry ideas,the combating desertification with low-coverage is a kind of new sand mode which can completely fixed the sand,speed up the soil and vegetation restoration,increase the productivity,save ecological water,achieve sustainable development of sand-fixation forest under the coverage of 15%-25%.The model wins prize of national patents and technological achievements for several times,and creates a new field of vegetation to achieve the goal to combat desertification with low-coverage.The generalization area for the model in Inner Mongolia,the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region,Gansu Province and other places are about 2million hm2;the model the sand has been widely used in the sand source of project in Beijing City and Tianjin City.The model has great value for promoting China's anti-desertification work into a scientific,efficient economical era;it will lead the study of combating desertification in China toward a new direction;it will make a significant contribution for China's anti-desertification projects and ecological environment construction.
