Spectroscopic Characteristics of Purple to Orange Red Diamonds from Lotus Colors,Inc. U.S.A.

彩色钻石的大众接受度不断增加,相关改色实验和理论研究也不断更新,现已可通过优化处理得到各种颜色的钻石,其光谱学特征的研究有助于加深认识、辅助鉴定。以39颗来自Lotus Colors钻石公司的紫色-橙红色调钻石作为研究对象,探究其宝石学特征和光谱学特征,推测致色原因和处理方法,最终通过长短波紫外荧光、显微红外反射光谱、显微紫外-可见反射光谱、光致发光光谱对这批钻石的类型、致色原因、处理工艺等进行全方面探究,同时还可了解显微反射法测量圆刻面型钻石的方法。以期丰富国内彩色处理钻石的研究资料,帮助认识和鉴定紫色-橙红色处理钻石,对钻石的光谱学特征研究有所裨益。

Colour diamonds are becoming more and more popular in China.Along with the advance of diamond colour treatment studies,diamonds can now be treated by means of multiple processes and achieve a variety of colours in appearance.In this paper,we studied the characteristics of gemmological characteristics and spectral characteristics of 39 purple and orange coloured diamonds produced by Lotus Colours,Inc.USA.Through long-wave and short-wave ultraviolet fluorescence,micro-infrared spectroscopy,micro-ultraviolet visible spectroscopy,and photo luminescence spectroscopy,we found these diamonds contain all diamond types.Careful study of these 39 diamonds shown fluorescence reaction differs from natural diamonds and characteristic peaks after irradiation and annealing.At the same time,we can also understand the method of measuring the round faceted diamond by microscopic reflection method.In order to enrich the research data of domestic colored diamonds,and identify purple-orange-red diamonds,it is beneficial to study the spectral characteristics of diamonds.
