单纯引进社会资本、依靠旅游开发的保护模式使古村落的保护面临危机,它不仅带来了诸多潜在的隐患,也损害了古村落的文化价值。当前社会上存在着古村落保护仅仅是将古村落维修好、保护好的思想认识误区,实际上,古村落是民族记忆和传统文化的载体,需要保护的绝不是哪座建筑物的空巢,而是民族文化的记忆、符号和传承,应从古村落整体保护的出发点来考虑。只有深入发掘古村落的内生动力,在发挥古村落村民主体作用的同时,平衡社会、政府、村民等各方利益,才能达到整体保护的效果,真正保护好古村落。

There is a misunderstanding in current society that the protection of ancient villages is just to get village repaired. In fact, ancient villages are the carrier of national memory and traditional culture, and what should be protected are the national culture memory, symbols and inheritance rather than the empty buildings, so we should protect the ancient villages in overall perspective. In order to achieve the overall protection of ancient villages, the only way is to deeply explore the endogenous power of ancient villages, to make the villagers living in ancient village play the main role in the protection, and balance the interests of society, government as well as villagers.
