"逗"在文献中是一个常用字,本义是"止";它记录了多个假借义,其中"投合、接合"义的本字是"鬭","诳逗"义的本字是"(忄豆)","逗趣"义从"诳逗"义引申而来。《启颜录》中"豆"字当为"有趣"义,通作"逗",本字为"(忄豆)"。
Dou（逗） is a commonly used character which means ＂stop＂. Meanwhile, it records several other meanings loaned from other characters, of which meanings ＂combine, integrate＂ is one of the original meaning of Dou（鬭）, and ‘hoax, tease’ is that of Dou（（忄豆））. Dou（（忄豆）） enspands its meaning from ‘hoax, tease’ to ‘amuse’ later. Therefore, the meaning of Dou（豆） in Qiyanlu（启颜录） should be ‘amuse’, and its original character is Dou（（忄豆））, usually written as Dou（逗）.
