The paper introduces the technological innovations of yarn for denim fabric achieved in China over the past few years, including the technological innovation of core-spun elastic yarn and slubby yarn, the application of knickerbocker yarn and heather yarn in denim fabric; compact spinning technology for denim yarn, combing process being introduced to pure cotton denim yarn production, the development of multi-fiber composite denim yarn, etc. It analyzes the measures and key points of quality control for denim yarn, points out the measures for improving yarn strength and yarn evenness, for controlling yarn weight unevenness and weight deviation and for better controlling winding joint.
