环洞庭湖区城镇化水平有所提高,但仍然处于快速发展阶段的前期,存在涉及民生、环境、就业以及体制机制等诸多方面的问题。"十三五"时期,环洞庭湖区资源、政策优势叠加,科学构建新型城镇化发展规划、加强新型城镇化发展的产业支撑、推进城镇化与生态文明融合发展、推动城镇基础设施建设和公共服务供给向农村延伸、创新新型城镇化发展的融资机制和管理机制、推进区域城乡统筹发展战略新格局等策略可以加快推进环洞庭湖区新型城镇化。

The level of urbanization of the around Dongting Lake Region has improved in past few years, but the urbanization of the around Dongting Lake Region has been in the earlier stage of rapid development and there are many problems involving the people＇s livelihood, environment, employment and institutional mechanism. There are the unique resources and policy advantage in the around Dongting Lake Region during the 13th National Five-year Plan, and It is to scientifically establish the new urbanization development plans, to strengthen industrial support for the new urbanization, to promote the integration of urbanization and ecological civilization. It is to promote urban infrastructure and public service provision to extend the rural area, it is to innovate financing mechanism and management mechanism for the new urbanization, and to promote new pattern of strategy for coordinating regional urban and rural developments.
