广义相对论是人类历史上最伟大的智力成就。本文基于相关的历史资料,按时间发展线索,试图厘清有关广义相对论历史起源的一些混淆。爱因斯坦丰富的想象力以及天才的物理直觉是其取胜的关键。没有任何人能撼动爱因斯坦作为广义相对论理论的奠基者地位,但如果没有格罗斯曼在数学方面的引导,诺德斯特勒姆等人在引力理论方面的挑战与竞争,尤其是他与希尔伯特在理论形成的最后冲刺阶段的相互角力,广义相对论的最终形成还要等待一些时日。

The general relativity theory is the greatest intellectual achievement in the history of the mankind. Based on relevant historical data, according to the timeline of the historical events, this paper tries to clarify some confusions about the genesis of the general relativity theory. Albert Einstein＇s rich imagination and his genius of physical intuition were the key to his victory. No one can shake Einstein＇s status as the founder of the general relativity theory, but if there would not have been guidance in mathematics from Marcel Grossmann, no challenges and competition from Gunnar Nordstr6m et al. in the theory of gravity, and especially no inspiration from David Hilbert in the final stage, the formulation of the general relativity theory would have taken a much longer time.
