In this paper, a comprehensive transportation planning for new towns was explored and studied, and the special signifi cance and connotation of new towns in urban construction were pointed out. Taking the planning for Heqing town in Pudong new area for example, combined with local conditions and problems, the strategies of comprehensive transportation planning for the new towns were proposed.
