The Dilemma of Identity Seeking in Allan Poe's Horor Fictions

现实生活中的爱伦坡命运多舛,其一生都在追求多重身份确立而未果。反映在其恐怖小说中,人物都打破了自身与外界的同一性,把同一性元素转化为不断与自身斗争的他者,如:他者化的父辈、他者化的妻子、他者化的社会规范。其恐怖小说为作者失败的身份追寻建构了一个想象的出口:以极端的方式消灭他者。

Allan Poe tried in vain to seek his multi-identification in his hard life,which has been fully reflected in his horor fictions,in which the characters has broken the identity principle between himself and the outside world,that is to say,in continuous conflict with the supporting elements in his life. For example,the maternity,the wife,and the social standard has been taken the Other by the characters. In a word the horor fictions have been taken as an imaginary solution to his identity seeking in real life： to destroy the Other.
