《汉语大字典》和《汉语大词典》作为语言文字工作者的权威工具书,发挥着不可替代的重要作用。以《左传》字词训释为例,从"通假字"、"异体字"、"古今字"界定不一致,书证晚出,词条义项漏收以及"泛指义"代替"特指义"等方面指出两部工具书在字词释义方面存在的一些偶疏之处。

The Grand Dictionary of Chinese Characters and The Great Chinese Dictionary as the authoritative reference books to the Chinese language workers play an irreplaceably important role. The author taking the explanations of the words in Zuo Zhuan as an example,studied the limitations of word explanation in these two dictionaries from the following aspects： inconsistence of the definitions of ＂interchangeable characters＂＂variant characters＂and ＂ancient and modern characters＂; omitting of some explanation terms of some words; replacement of the special meaning with the general reference meaning.
