“Heterotopias” and “Self-consistency”: Two Reading Notes on Three Bodies

《三体》所表现的"宇宙社会学"虽然含有浓厚的社会达尔文主义气息,但整个故事写的却是"宇宙恶托邦"向"宇宙乌托邦"的转化,从而在更广、更深的意义上体现了王德威所说对于"‘人之所以为人’的一种二律背反的深刻的沉思"。《三体》的启示:文艺作品是否"真实",取决于它满足"自洽性"的程度。

Although the ＂sociology of the universe＂ embodied in Three Bodies has a strong atmosphere of social Darwinism, the whole story describes a transformation from ＂the dystopia＂ to ＂the cosmic utopia＂. Therefore, it deeply reflects the meditation of ＂why human beings become human beings＂ by Wang Dewei. The enlightenment of Three Bodies is： whether art works are ＂genuine＂ depends on the degree of how they satisfy the ＂selfconsistency＂.
